Stabbing incidents are increasing in Ratlam. On Wednesday night, a 17-year-old boy was attacked by some boys in the Industrial Police Station area. He was seriously injured and admitted to the medical college. The attackers are also minors. The police have taken one minor boy into custody. This is the fourth stabbing incident in the city in the first two weeks of the new year.
According to the information, 17-year-old Gautam Goyal, son of Bhagwatilal Goyal, a resident of Alkapuri, was going to a cafe in Vinoba Nagar with his friends Rehan alias Sonu and Mayank Rajwadia on Wednesday night. On the way, some minor boys met them and, after an argument and exchange of insults, attacked Gautam Goyal with a knife. Gautam was seriously injured and admitted to the medical college.
Gautam's friend Rehan alias Sonu told the police that he and another friend, Mayank Rajwadia, were sitting at Gautam's house on Wednesday night. Gautam said that a friend had called him to a cafe in Vinoba Nagar for tea, and suggested they go there. The three of them were walking towards the cafe when they encountered some boys near the Vinoba Nagar crematorium. They argued with Gautam and exchanged insults. When Gautam protested, the accused boys attacked him with a knife. Rehan also sustained an injury to his hand while trying to intervene. According to the police, a case has been registered and the search for the accused is underway.
Attack on Three People at the Beginning of the New Year
On the night of December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026, at around 2 AM, near the GRP intersection on Station Road, an 18-year-old accused, Babu, son of Shyam Damor, a resident of Jawra Phatak area, stabbed and injured 21-year-old Chetan, son of Kamal Reshmiya, a resident of Dosigaon Multi, and 35-year-old Kalu, son of Nanuram Ninama, a resident of Patli village, following an argument over a motorcycle cutting them off. The accused then fled to the Dilbahar intersection. There, without any reason, 20-year-old Honey Singh, son of Roop Singh Gamad, a resident of Borali village, Petlawad police station, Jhabua district, was also stabbed and injured. The Station Road police arrested the accused, Babu.
Passenger attacked with a knife from behind
On the night of January 3, 2026, around 1 AM, 24-year-old Sadiq, a resident of Neemuch, had come to Ratlam by train to attend a wedding. After getting off the train, he was walking out of platform number seven and talking on the phone with his family about someone coming to pick him up, when he was walking towards platform two. At that time, the accused, 18-year-old Aman, son of Prakash Bourasi, a resident of Jawra Phatak, who was walking behind him, attacked Sadiq with a knife. Sadiq was injured and admitted to the district hospital. According to Sadiq, he did not know the accused, and the accused attacked him without any reason. The police registered a case and arrested the accused Aman.
