Saharanpur, New Delhi: Addressing intellectuals, farmer leaders, economists, journalists, and people concerned about the country from India and abroad on the occasion of Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan's memorial day at the Constitution Club, Bhagat Singh Verma, National President of Bharatiya Kisan Union Verma and Western Uttar Pradesh Mukti Morcha, said that the country's progress is possible only through the creation of smaller states. Today, Uttar Pradesh is the largest state in the country. Due to its large size, law and order has deteriorated in Uttar Pradesh. The 250 million people of Uttar Pradesh are gripped by corruption, inflation, unemployment, poverty, and disorder. In countries with smaller states, law and order is better. Per capita income is higher. Education and healthcare are free for all. National President Bhagat Singh Verma wrote a letter to the President and the Prime Minister, demanding the formation of a State Reorganization Commission, the creation of a separate Western Uttar Pradesh, and the creation of other states in the country, including Vidarbha in Maharashtra. He stated that the country's smaller states are at the pinnacle of progress and development. He stated that Western Uttar Pradesh's 26 districts, six divisions, and their 80 million people lag behind in education and healthcare. These 26 districts contribute the highest revenue to the government. Lawyers in Western Uttar Pradesh have been continuously agitating for the establishment of a High Court bench in Meerut for the past 45 years. However, a High Court bench should have been established here since independence. Justice is also very expensive for the people here. National President Bhagat Singh Verma urged farmers, laborers, businessmen, shopkeepers, intellectuals, lawyers, journalists, students, and youth to unite and fight for the creation of a separate Western Uttar Pradesh. With the creation of a separate Western Uttar Pradesh, large industries will be established here, providing employment to all educated youth. AIIMS, IIT, NIT, and IMT research centers will be established here. Western Pradesh will be free from poverty, inflation, corruption, adulteration, and unemployment.
